Michael is a physician assistant with the Kayal Orthopaedic Center. Originally from Cedar Grove, NJ, Michael attended Cedar Grove High School. He began developing a passion for the field of orthopedics and sports medicine during this time after experiencing multiple orthopedic injuries throughout his sporting career.
Following high school, Michael graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Montclair State University. He began shadowing PA’s in various fields, which confirmed his interest in the field of orthopedics.
After Michael completed his undergraduate studies, he attended Mercy College’s Physician Assistant Program. During his training, Michael went on multiple medical mission trips. He traveled to Ghana, Africa, as well as Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he visited various villages and treated thousands of people with a variety of health problems. He also volunteered on a mobile health vehicle throughout New York City where he was further able to help many people in the community. During his clinical year, he chose his elective in orthopedics where he was able to work in a tier-1 trauma center at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx.
When Michael isn’t working, he enjoys relaxing with his friends, family and puppy named Hazel, going to the gym, eating and traveling.
