Dr. Theresa Ronna, DPM, at the Kayal Orthopaedic Center delivers cutting-edge care for dancers, from prevention to diagnosis and treatment of dance injuries. Helping patients return to the stage quickly, gracefully and with minimal pain, Ronna develops individualized patient care plans based upon a dancer’s age, goals and performance requirements.
Therapies and treatments include a holistic alternative to cortisone injections and collaboration with allied health professionals who are dance medicine experts.
Our experienced podiatrist has a background in dance and has trained under world renowned dance medicine orthopedists. She has a passion for performance and the expertise to keep dancers healthy and strong. It is our goal to enhance the health, well-being and performance of professional and amateur dancers through education, injury prevention and progressive podiatric techniques. Our team possesses a sophisticated understanding of lower extremity biomechanics and the unique demands placed upon dancers’ bodies. Partnering with reputable physical therapists, massage therapists and myofascial stretch specialists, we emphasize injury prevention and provide well-rounded care for dancers of all levels.
Dancers should wear or bring shorts and bring their pointe shoes or other dance shoes. Appointments for first-time patients usually take about 45 minutes.
